At this month’s Marian University Scholarship Reception, an inspiring new scholarship was announced that highlights the lasting impact of friendship, education, and the power of giving back. The Nierman, Moss, O’Brien, Hardwick Endowed Scholarship, created by four alumni and friends from the Class of 2004, will provide financial support to future students, ensuring that others can experience the same transformative education that shaped their own lives. Ben Hardwick, Joe Nierman, Denis O’Brien, and Josh Moss first met as young students navigating college life. From classrooms to dorms, late-night study sessions to campus traditions, their friendship deepened, providing lifelong support through academic, personal, and professional challenges. Their commitment to Marian never faded. As alumni, they’ve served on the Alumni Board, mentored students, and remained active in the community. Now, this scholarship is a meaningful way to give back to the place that brought them together. “Marian University played a crucial role in shaping who we are,” Moss shared during the reception. “This initiative is more than just financial aid—it’s our way of ensuring that future students have the same life-changing experiences we had. We want to help remove barriers, provide opportunities, and support the next generation of Marian graduates as they embark on their own journeys.” Their generosity serves as a powerful reminder that any alum who values their Marian experience have the power to make a difference. Whether through mentorship, involvement, or financial support, every contribution can make a lasting impact. Thank you, Ben, Joe, Denis, and Josh for your vision and generosity! | | | CELEBRATE MARIAN BASEBALL AT ALUMNI DAY Join us on Saturday, April 5, for Marian University Baseball Alumni Day, a special gathering for past players, families, and fans! Cheer on the Knights as they take on Mount Vernon Nazarene University in a doubleheader—Game 1 starts at 1:00 PM, with Game 2 at 4:00 PM. Between games, we’ll honor the 2005 Conference Championship team and recognize the incredible contributions of Coach Morrell. A special ceremony before Game 2 will include a brief acknowledgment of the team’s achievements, a ceremonial first pitch, and a group photo to commemorate this milestone. Reconnect with old teammates, share stories, and celebrate the lasting impact of Marian Baseball. Whether you were on the field, in the dugout, or cheering from the stands, this is a day to celebrate our baseball legacy together. You can register here to let us know you'll be there, or simply show up. See you at the ballpark! |
