I wonder ...
A shark's skeleton isn't made of bone – it's made of cartilage, the material that makes up your nose and ears. Cartilage is lighter than bone, so sharks use less energy to swim and float than bony fish. Its flexibility also lets a shark make sharp turns as it pursues its prey. Scientists are still investigating whether ancient sharks had bones that evolved into cartilage or never had bones at all.

What animal fact are you wondering about? Keep those questions coming! Yours just might get answered in a future issue!

MarisolThe food will have a smoked/barbecue theme, and will feature classics such as brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, along with new and exciting dishes like Indy street corn and BBQ poutine fries. So, bring your appetites on your next visit. The Pavilion Café will be open in time for Labor Day.

  A Home for Wildlife

The White River Gardens is a National Wildlife Federation (NWF) Certified Wildlife Habitat garden. You can do this in your own yard, too. To be certified you need to provide all the necessities of life for wild animals. The things that must be present are food (nectar, seeds, nuts, fruit, berries, foliage, pollen and insect food), water (for drinking, bathing and breeding ), cover (places to shelter and hide), and places to raise young. So what might you see on your next trip here? Read more ...
